Fall 2010/ Spring 2011 Program
Dreamcatchers
2010’s theme for the Fall/Spring program is Dream Catchers. How did the great masters do it? Picasso, O’keefe, Matisse, Chaghall? Our fascination lies in their daring to dream, to take a chance and venture into their imagination and spirit of creating art. But in addition to this audacity to “dream”, they also had an exceptional grasp of technique and understanding of the elements of art. This combination of talent and courage explodes onto the canvas or in their drawings or through their sculpture. During the first part of the year, your artist will develop and refine very specific painting, drawing and sculpture techniques - rendering, shading, blending, carving, etc. The rest of the year will be dedicated to putting the skills to work! They will focus on the art and power of their own imagination, how to direct it and how to set it free. From the art of “day dreaming” to what they dream of, they will develop their “voice” as an artist and combine it with their repertoire of skill, technique and understanding of art concepts. Foundation meets freedom!!
The Fall/Spring program begins in September and runs through May. Tuition is $78/month. A security deposit of $78 and a $55* registration fee (both non-refundable) are due at registration. The security deposit will be used for May 2011’s tuition. (*$60 registration fee for “Studio Graduates”)
